What is coming
to Sylkaen

The line grows one book at a time. Here is what is coming out, what has just come out, and what the next volume covers.

Coming · October 2026

The Crown-World

The atlas of the inhabited world. Until now the line has been digging: buried Cycles, the deep Cosmos, what sleeps beneath the cities. This book looks at the surface, and at what the living are fighting over up there.

What is in the book

One part per region,
and enough to play there

Each region gets its chapter: the territory, its sub-regions, its cities described district by district, its notable places, and two figures you can use from the first session.

The Lands of the First Furrow

Capital Nyméria · 18 entries

The central continent and its trading posts, from Ambrelis to Khépra, with the Bastion of the Seven Locks and the Temple of the Repeated Dawn.

The Peaks

Capital Ailenor · 12 entries

The Chain of Colossi, the Passes of the Little Sky and the Howling Rifts, out to Cendrelune and Kaer-Vhol.

The Canopy

Capital Verdancre · 11 entries

The world-forest, its inhabited heights and what its roots touch without ever bringing it back up.

The Monoliths

Capital Darkforge · 12 entries

The First Galleries, the Bedrock Shafts and Vaor, down to the Crypt of Genealogies.

The Submerged Fringe

Capital Maelithe · 13 entries

The Ancient Trenches, the Border Reefs, Brisant-les-Quais and Vaskarr, out to the Silent Trench.

The Sands

Capital Skarn · 12 entries

The Open Scar, the Villages of the Rupture and the Point of Suture, where two Strata touch.

An eighth part closes the book on travel between continents: what it costs, what it takes, and why so few people do it twice.

Coming · date to be announced

The Sediments

Where The Crown-World looks at the surface, this one goes down. Seven tiers, from the soil people plough to the Bottomless, whose maps nobody brings back.

The world's vertical axis

Going down in Sylkaen is not crossing a dungeon: it is going back in time. Each tier belongs to an age older than the one above it, and what you find there was not stored, it was left.

Seven tiers, seven parts

The Living Crust, the Foundations, the Ruin Bed, the Bedrock, the Deaf Layers, the Bottomless. Each with what lives there, what is traded there, and what it costs to stay.

What is known already

202 pages, written and typeset, in both rules editions and both languages. The release date is not set yet: it will be announced here.

Frequently asked questions about the coming releases

When does The Crown-World come out?

In October 2026. The book will be released in French and English on the same day, in both of its rules editions: 5e (SRD 5.2.1) and 3.5. Like the rest of the line, it will be sold as a high-definition PDF on itch.io, with future updates included.

Do I need the other books to use it?

No. It is an atlas: it describes a world, it does not restate the rules. It reads and works on its own, including in a 5e or 3.5 campaign that has nothing to do with Sylkaen. The Complete Bundle is still what you need to play Vestiges itself, with its peoples, classes and setting.

What does it add to the Game Master's Book?

The Game Master's Book gives you the frame of the world in a few dozen pages, among many other subjects. This atlas gives it 355: one part per region, cities described district by district, sub-regions, notable places and local figures. Where the GM's book draws the map, this one fills it in.

How many regions and places does it cover?

Eight parts, six of them devoted to a single region each: the Lands of the First Furrow, the Peaks, the Canopy, the Monoliths, the Submerged Fringe and the Sands. Eighty-four entries in all, between territories, cities, notable places and figures. An eighth part covers travel between continents.

Is it already written, or only announced?

It is written and laid out in all four versions: French and English, each in 5e and 3.5. What remains before October is the final proofreading and putting it on sale. This is not a statement of intent, it is a release date.

When do The Sediments come out?

The date is not set yet. The book is written and typeset, all 202 pages of it, in both rules editions and both languages, but it comes after The Crown-World in the release order. The date will be announced on this page as soon as it is fixed.

What is the difference between The Crown-World and The Sediments?

Both describe the same world along two axes. The Crown-World travels the surface: the six regions, their cities, their roads, what the kingdoms fight over. The Sediments goes down: seven tiers, from the soil people plough to the Bottomless, where each level belongs to an age older than the one above it. One reads in width, the other in depth.

Where will it be sold, and at what price?

On the official itch.io store, like the rest of the line. The price will be announced on this page when sales open, in October. Buyers of the earlier books need do nothing: every title is bought independently.
